New Vs Used Cribs: Important Considerations

It really does not matter if this is your first child or if you are currently planning your fourth child. You want to make sure that you are getting the absolute best for your new baby. This means new bottles, new clothes and a new crib, such as the Child Craft Crib.

Family and friends don't help the situation either. There are so many "hand me downs" out there, it's even possible to head to the local charity store for all your baby's essentials.

On a financial standpoint it definitely sounds like a great idea, but after awhile you realize it's a horrible choice. Yes there are some things that can be purchased used that won't cause a safety threat, but car seats and cribs need to be new. So consider both of these while we sit here and discuss a used Child Craft Crib.

Think about technology and research. Do we look at child rearing the same way we did forty, twenty or even just ten short years ago? While some things remain the same, further tests and studies have shown that we haven't always known what was best, even though we would like to think so. Never fall for the "if it worked for grandma, it will work for me", even if it DID work for grandma. Maybe she was just lucky. This goes for parenting advice and furniture selection.

For example, the bars of the older cribs were set further apart than the bars of the cribs of today. Even though many babies lived through those crib options without harm, there were ones who did not. Many babies became injured or even died because of crib furniture that was not suitable.

So what if you're strapped for cash? Well, keeping your baby safe is definitely worth the extra cost. You can choose a Child Craft Falls Village or another option, but as long as it's new you will have made the right choice. Cutting costs is going to cross every parent's mind in the beginning. The only problem is that it can lead to faulty cribs and children being harmed. If you purchase a new crib you can eliminate this issue all together.

After all, with something such as the Child Craft Crib, you will be the first one setting it up and you will be able to know whether it is truly safe for your child. Also, you will have the option of making use of the warranty should something go wrong with it. This is not something you would have if you were to accept a used crib from someone.
