A very exceptional story marks the birth of Skagen womens watch. Over 20 years ago, in the year 1986, Henrik Jorst and Charlotte Kjolbye were at a corporate party when they ran into each other and instantly fell in love; the definition of love at first sight. A little while later, Henrik's employers, Carlsberg, made him the manager of the North American marketing team and sent him to New York. However, Charlotte made her way to New York too, where they found each other again, and the rest, as they say, is history.
A friend of Henrik's from Denmark sent him some samples of his company gift watches, asking if there was a conceivable market for them in the United States. Using the samples as a starting point, they added their own fashionable touches, creating a very stylish end product. Surprisingly to them, corporate buyers were in love with their designs, and suggested that they make a brand name for themselves instead of only supplying to corporations.
Both Jorst and Kjolbye managed to come up with eight hundred watches in 4 unique designs under the handle Skagen Denmark. The couple founded Skagen as a result of an unfathomable passion for design. They also have a strong belief that they knew what people wanted. The initial batch of Skagen watches were sold out. They also had another cargo shipped right after. As for the next year, Henrik and Charlotte designed thirty new models. There was a buyer who took a chance and placed the Skagen watches on the back of the special Father’s Day edition.
Further down the line in the year 1995, Bloomingdales adopted Skagen watches on a trial basis. By the end of that day, every single watch had been sold. Skagen mens luxury watch was also featured in Inc. magazines as one of the 250 fastest growing private corporations in the Unites States. Over five years, there had been a 1200 percent increase in turnover, and a new office was opened in Denmark to distribute the watches. 80 new stores were opened in Denmark alone, and in 1995, Skagen watches were being distributed to the United Kingdom.
In 1995, the United Kingdom was being sold Skagen watches and Skagen Denmark now had almost 100 employees working for it. Many other countries jumped on the bandwagon in 2000 and began to sell the watches as well, including Germany and the Netherlands. This line of watches had made huge strides in the industry and had grown to an enormous company with 160 employees and sixty markets world wide. Over 250 unique watch designs are now available with over 5000 stores all over the globe.
